The Black Author Branding Experience

Eligibility & Guidelines: 

Applications for the Black Author Branding Experience close on August 31, 2026. All applications will be reviewed, and the selected author will be notified by September 16, 2026.

Once selected, the featured author must complete the onboarding process and submit all requested materials within 14 days. If the project is not started within the required timeframe, the opportunity may be forfeited and offered again during the next application period.

Eligibility

• You must be a Black author.
• Your book must already be published and available for purchase.
• If your book is available for preorder the release date has to be scheduled during 2026.
• Your book should be actively available for purchase or preorder at the time you apply.

The goal is to support authors who are ready to put these branding materials to use right away, whether that's at book signings, speaking engagements, networking events, vendor markets, or while fulfilling customer orders.

What's Included

The featured author will receive:

• One 30-minute author branding consultation
• One custom bookmark design
• One custom postcard design
• One custom sticker design
• One custom poly mailer or bubble mailer design
• A featured author spotlight shared with my community of over 100,000 across Instagram, Facebook, and my email newsletter.
• Vendor recommendations and trusted printing resources
• Print-ready design files

Printing and production costs are not included.

Design Process

All branding materials will be created using your existing brand assets.

Depending on your book, this may include:

• Your book cover
• Existing illustrations
• Brand colors
• Logos
• Typography
• Other artwork you've already licensed or own the rights to use

I will not create new illustrations, characters, logos, or custom artwork as part of this experience.

Usage Rights

If your branding will include illustrations, artwork, or other visual assets, you must have permission or the appropriate licensing to use those assets for promotional and printed marketing materials.

By applying, you confirm that you own or have the rights to use the materials you provide.

Package Details

To keep this experience fair and manageable, the branding package cannot be customized.

Items cannot be substituted, exchanged, or swapped for different design requests. For example, a sticker design cannot be replaced with a business card, banner, or other marketing item.

Revisions

The featured author will receive one round of revisions for each design to make minor edits and refinements.

Timeline

Once selected, the featured author must complete the onboarding process and submit all requested materials within 14 days.

Projects that are not started within the requested timeframe may be forfeited so the opportunity can be offered during the next application period.
